Playful EMDR: Parents and Caregivers as Co-Therapists

This training is presented, in partnership by Dr Sarah Schubert and Dr Jenny Dywer.
This training is delivered by Annie Monaco and Ann Beckley-Forest

Overview:

Join Annie Monaco and Ann Beckley-Forest of Playful EMDR in Perth, Australia for the debut of our new Intermediate level course for child and teen therapists integrating EMDR with the therapeutic powers of play.

In this specialty training at the intermediate/advanced level, the focus will be on how to incorporate parents in the therapy room as essential partners to resolve traumatic memories. Attachment wounds and caregivers’ mis-attuned responses to adversity are a common source of the kinds of traumatic material that can be hard to heal. We will describe (and even show via video clips) sessions which highlight attachment repair-focused play therapy and EMDR, and play-based dissociation interventions to manage challenges for trauma-exposed children and their parents and caregivers.
